SARAH IMPEY

As a very young child, I was completely captivated with flying and air hostesses. I dreamt of travelling the world, and seeing what is out there beyond the normal.  At 31 I finally gained my flying wings and realised my young dream.

In my earlier years I was a sensitive child and very soon learned to hide it in what, at times, seemed a rather harsh judgemental world.  Being in or next to the water was somewhere I felt more comfortable and more at home… somewhere I could feel free.  Soon I found my water wings through synchronised swimming.

This is where I learnt to connect 'below the surface', to channel my inner mermaid and connect to my breath.  I was a natural at connecting to the sensations, sounds, movement and the vibration of the music and sound in the water.  This was essential for  communicating with my Synchro partner and the rest of the team.

My sensitivities have been a struggle at times, but have gifted me the ability of tuning in ‘beneath the surface’ in life, discerning and feeling when there is an imbalance. Whether it’s with what someone says or how I interpret a situation energetically.  This has allowed me to tune in intuitively through my body and to the energy field, and has also connected me back to the water.

I have learned through being an extremely sensitive child and adult to now embrace and appreciate my sensitivity. My ability to tune in and feel things beyond the five senses expands my ability to journey beyond the obvious.

I now balance flying with my passion and fascination with water through creating and selling my water art.  I also help  support my clients through alternative therapies and am constantly evolving new approaches.

I work from my beachside home connecting daily to the water, capturing my images, and helping others to reconnect and tune in, to travel beyond the obvious so they too can embrace their unique selves.

Reflections

It was early 2020 in the beginning of lockdown that I had a further shift in my awakening, and I started connecting deeper with the water.   So began my fascination with the light on the water.

I started to see (with my own eyes), beams of light between the sky and the water…  like a plasma with the light filtering through it. It was like I was seeing the light in an invisible field.  This light energy felt like a life force.

I remember asking my partner if he could see it too… or was I going mad?!  (A common theme throughout my life, from my childhood as a way of fitting in… I would rather judge myself as mad or wrong than admit and trust what I could see, and be okay to be different).

It was on this day in 2020 when I accepted what I was seeing with my own eyes to be there and true, that my camera lens started to capture it too.

And so, my pictures were born.

I love to take images, of where the sunlight touches the water……. and then mirror them to reveal what is beyond the obvious or what the eye hasn’t yet seen.

I can feel and read the energy vibration captured in the images.  I liken it to how a musician reads and feels music. I am then able to process the information through my body and my cells respond from a place of balance and coherence and I can feel this resonance in my heart.

The unique vibration and sound of water was very apparent to me during a bout of illness back in 2021. I felt completely dissociated from my body and surroundings, so I curled up on the beach next to the water.  I discovered I could feel its unique vibration. This vibration allowed me to land back into harmony with my body.  I felt calm, centred and at peace. At one with the water. I can now connect to that feeling in my body simply and easily with the reflection from the image and also it's unique vibration.

It reminds me of when I was a child, having our piano tuned.  I would hear the Piano Tuner play the note over and over off-key until it vibrated in tune.  This is what I feel is happening in the world...

Everything and everyone are finely tuning their note to their unique song that it's been playing so 'out of tune' for so long.

Everyone can find their unique vibration in the reflection and vibration of the sunlit water.

For me, the images I capture of the water and light, and the energy from these images, have helped me to find balance within myself. To find my more natural vibration.   When I stand in front of water, and these images, it's as if the body recognises itself in the 'mirror', reflecting the light and water, a reflection of the body in its purest state.

I believe the point where the Sunlight meets the water creates an energy of something new.  While researching I found that there is a pattern in Inca weaving that is the reflection of the sun on the water…

“The living energy of the sun meeting and harmonising the living energy of the water, where the two meet, is what creates life: the point of creation.” ~The Inca Tradition

We all are light in our own body of water.  When we realise this we can begin to move more in harmony and balance, in our purest state.
